WINSFORD Town Council is looking for residents' ideas on how to improve the town.

The town council has £25,000 to distribute via participatory budgeting (PB), which lets the community decide for themselves which projects should be funded in their area.

Ideas are welcome for new or existing projects that will benefit Winsford, whether you want to organise a healthy living project, have a crime prevention idea, launch a club for older residents, support the youth or run a community art project.

The only limit is your imagination.

Any community, voluntary or non-profit organisation can apply to this fund, even informal groups.

Funding of £250 to £5000 is available to put each idea into action.

You don’t have to come from an existing organisation to apply for this fund, but all activities will have to happen in Winsford and benefit residents.

All successful applicants will require an organisation to act as their banker if they have no bank account of their own.

A voting event will take place on Saturday, December 4 at 1.30pm at Winsford Academy where ideas will be presented.

Those in attendance will then vote on all the applications, with a final decision made on the day.

Mayor of Winsford, cllr Nathan Pardoe, said: "We've launched Winsford Decides, a participatory budgeting programme that puts residents in the driving seat to deliver change in Winsford.

"If you have an idea for a project that would make Winsford better then this is for you – funding bids can be made for £250-£5,000.

"If you're interested in our wonderful town, make sure to attend the voting event in December and have your say on which projects are funded.

"Thanks to all the residents, staff and experts involved in making this project happen.

"I'm looking forward to seeing what ideas the community come up with."

The deadline for applications to be submitted is 5pm on Friday, November 5.
