A FRIENDSHIP cafe offers people with dementia and their carers the chance to relax.

Families, couples and individuals are welcome to pop into Northwich Rotary friendship cafe for a chat and a cup of coffee.

It is an opportunity to make new friends and share a conversation with people in a safe, welcoming environment.

A range of games and activities including dominos, cards, crafts and singing are available.

A spokesman for the cafe said: "Activities are based around personal interests and can be adapted each time so that everyone gains enjoyment from the session.

"The cafe is equally welcoming to companions as well as those living with dementia.

"If activities are not your thing, don't worry the kettle is always on so just pop in for a brew and a chat."

One woman posted: "My mam hated this sort of stuff and would never ever be seen playing bingo. Now this is the highlight of her month going here playing bingo and crafting."

The next cafe session will be held on Wednesday, October 20 from 1.45pm to 4pm at Northwich Methodist Outreach Centre on Witton Street.
