SANDIWAY Golf Club are celebrating winning the Cheshire Ladies Elizabeth Wilson Scratch Team Trophy at Stockport Golf Club.
Lis Wilson, a Cheshire golfing legend, presented the trophy to Sandiway after a thrilling contest against Bromborough.
Some of the county’s top players were in action, including Rian Moores, Megan Sumner, Poppy Finlay, Barbara Laird and Jane Burke for Sandiway.
Bromborough's line-up included Caroline Berry, Sophie Clafton, Louise McLoughlin, Isabel May and Jan McGowan.
With some excellent golf played the match was as close as you could wish for, with one match going to the 17th, two going to the 18th, one going to the 19th, and one going to the 21st!
Cheshire captain Frances Gell, of Bramhall GC, said: “Congratulations to Sandiway on winning such a well fought match. Golf was also definitely the winner on the day!
Jenny Turner is stepping away and taking a well earned rest after five years of running the event.
