ONE of the town's much loved eateries has closed its doors and moved to a brand new town centre location.
Kanya, a real Northwich success story since it first opened as a small cafe on the High Street in 2010, has just opened on the ground floor of the recently completed Water Cross development.

For owner Nagendra Kumar Prasad, the move seemed like the logical next step in the evolution of the business he said was built on three qualities he considers to be most important.
"I was meant to work in hospitality," he said.
"I originally started this place as a small, 18-seater greasy spoon cafe.
"It was called Kenya, like the country, but I changed the name to Kanya, which means little girl, as my baby daughter had just been born.
"I worked really hard on my product and service.
"Quality of food, top class service and the atmosphere - I tried to marry these three things together and people loved it."
Popular Northwich eaterie Kanya has moved and has a modern, sleek look
Having arrived in the country from his native India back in 2004, originally to study hospitality business management, Nagendra's story is one that combines a mixture of hard work, determination and serendipity.
"I never intended to stay," he said.
"I always wanted to go back home and join the family business."
It was when working in the Hilton hotel in Manchester did the opportunity arise for him to become a restaurant manager, which in turn enabled him to get a five year working visa.
The rest, they say, is history, and now, some 17 years later, he is married with two children and runs four successful businesses, employing almost 70 people.
"Kanya just grew and grew, until it became a bistro and even then, it still wasn't enough, so that's why we are now here.
"The new space is very modern and there is plenty of seating, both at tables and lounge style, so people can relax or have meetings.
"I feel like I've achieved more than what I ever dreamed for."
The all new Kanya can be found on the ground floor of Water Cross, Watling Street and is open 9am-4pm daily (5pm Sunday).
