A ROAD in Weaverham which will have been closed for more than three weeks due to a sinkhole is expected to reopen by next Friday.
The sinkhole appeared in the middle of Northwich Road on September 8 and the council's highways teams have been investigation the cavity.
A spokesperson for Cheshire West Council confirmed: "Further excavation work took place this week, followed by backfilling.
"This will be continued with excavations behind the other bridge abutment as there is a depression that will be checked for any voids below the road.
"This side will also be backfilled with concrete.
"The road is expected to be re-opened by Friday, October 1."
