A SINKHOLE which appeared in Weaverham will be repaired 'as soon as possible'.
It appeared on Wednesday night in the middle of a road.
A spokesperson for Cheshire West and Chester council said: "The council’s Highways Team has taken action to close Northwich Road, Weaverham, after the appearance of a sinkhole behind a privately-owned bridge.
"The closure has been reinforced with barriers because the size of the hole affects the width of the road.
"A safe route of access has been maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.
"An assessment has been carried out by council engineers and we are working closely with our contractors to carry out the repair work and re-open the road as soon as possible."
