LIVE music will return to Barons Quay tomorrow, Saturday, courtesy of Radio Northwich.

Nine performers will take to the stage in Barons Square, opposite Asda, from 10am until 4pm and DJs from the station will host the free music event.

Among the musicians are the two winners of the Music Is Quay competition – Matty Ian and Uncharted.

They performed at events on the August 14 and 28 and were then voted as favourites via an online vote on social media.

Matty Ian is a singer/songwriter from Chester and Uncharted is a band of five talented local lads who recently left Leftwich High School.

Other acts include Les Martin, an experienced performer from Winsford, Andre Adams, a multi-talented 15-year-old from Winsford who attends Hartford CE High School and Jim Stanley, well known around Northwich for his fabulous artwork.

Dillon Lamb from Sandbach is also performing, as well as Barnton Silver Band, Mid Cheshire Musical Theatre and Marooned.

John Thompson from Radio Northwich said: "We moved to our new studio at Barons Quay a year ago, but due to the pandemic, lockdowns and local restrictions we haven’t been able to celebrate the move properly.

"In spite of Covid-19 we have continued to broadcast and have grown our loyal audience.

"Our 'Open Funday' on Saturday is our way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported us during this difficult time including local businesses, our dedicated staff and of course the listeners!"

Lina Higuita, centre manager at Barons Quay said: "We are lucky to have a radio station in Northwich with such passionate presenters that help promote all the great things happening in the town.

"They have put on some great shows, highlighting some excellent musical talent and I’m looking forward to another brilliant event on Saturday.

"Come along and catch these talented artists before they hit the big time!"
