THE seven-day Covid case rates in both Cheshire West and Cheshire East are continuing to rise after more than 400 people tested positive in the last 24 hours.
A total of 428 new cases were reported in Mid Cheshire between 4pm on September 7 and 4pm today, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
This is made up of 215 new cases in Cheshire West and Chester and 213 cases in Cheshire East.
The total number of cases in both boroughs now stands at 35,973 in Cheshire West and 35,793 in Cheshire East.
The latest update means there have now been 1,469 cases in the last seven days in Cheshire West, giving the borough a seven-day case rate of 427.3 per 100,000 people.
There have been 1,419 cases in Cheshire East over the last week, meaning the borough’s seven-day case rate is now 367 per 100,000.
Nationally there were 38,975 new Covid-19 cases across the UK in the latest 24-hour period.
