THE M6 northbound finally reopened late last night after a fatal accident.
Yesterday morning, Tuesday, a blue and white HGV collided with a railway bridge between junction 17 for Sandbach and junction 18 for Middlewich.
The driver of the HGV, a man in his 60s, died at the scene.

The M6 northbound was closed for more than 12 hours as a result, with more than 120 minute delays reported, as a police-led investigation was carried out at the scene.
A spillage of 800 litres of diesel was also cleared.
Northern Railway services between Holmes Chapel and Crewe were cancelled as a result of the HGV hitting the railway bridge.
Highways England said: "The full closure at junction 17, M6 northbound, has been removed, and the motorway re-opened.
"However, there is still a lane 1/2 closure in place, where the bridge was struck.
"This likely to be in place for a little while. Apologies for any inconvenience."
This is causing delays with travel time around 25 minutes.
