THERE are delays of more than 60 minutes on the M6 northbound following a serious collision this morning, Tuesday.
Police have confimed that a HGV has collided with a bridge.
All lanes are closed between junction 17 for Sandbach and junction 18 for Middlewich.
All traffic is being instructed to leave at junction 17, causing delays of more than 60 minutes above the normal travel time and five miles of congestion almost back to junction 16.
Drivers should extra time for their journey if travelling in and around the area and consider alternative routes where possible.
Police have since confirmed the driver of the HGV died at the scene.
