Northwich has received another business boost with the news BT is moving some of its offices to the town.

BT Local Business Cheshire has announced it will re-locating from its current Altrincham base, after completing a purchase of offices located at Winnington Court.

The move to Winnington Street, which will take place later in the year has been hailed by the groups Managing Director, who described Northwich as 'a great representation of Cheshire'.

As part of the relocation, BT Local Business will bring with it 20 current jobs, with a hope that new roles could be created at some point in 2022.

Simon Cook, Managing Director said: "We are delighted to be relocating to Northwich.

"We are currently located in Altrincham, but with our lease coming to an end this year, we looked around the county and decided that Northwich offered a great representation of Cheshire, along with providing our staff with excellent local infrastructure and town centre services.

"As providers of BT’s products and services together with local our understanding, right on your doorstep, we’re already helping lots of businesses in the area to get better connected.

"We have also recently upgraded our Northwich data centre to allow business customers to go beyond the broadband network by connecting directly to BT's core network, with speeds up to 10 gig, with 100 per cent availability.

"This service is available to business customers that demand always on internet access, 24/7.

"BT Local Business Cheshire will be bringing 20 - 30 jobs to the town, which will also contribute towards the local town centre community."

The building on Winnington Street was purchased via a Scottish Widows fund, marketed by Williams Sillitoe, with the legal transaction completed by Thrings LLC.
