A MUCH-CHANGED Northwich Victoria side fell 2-0 at home to Longridge Town in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

Longridge were dominant after the opening 20 minutes and secured revenge for their home FA Cup loss at the hands of Vics a week earlier courtesy of goals from Jack Anderton (41mins) and Danny Wilkinson (62mins).

The visitors hit the woodwork in each half too.

Steve Wilkes was without a number of players he had called on in his starting team since the season's start.

He brought in the club's former keeper Danny Taberner on a week's loan from Atherton Collieries after Chris Cheetham collected an injury in the midweek victory over Wythenshawe Town.

Wilkes revealed Brad Lynch had suffered a work injury, falling through a roof on Friday and requiring around 10 stitches in his thigh and leaving him sidelined for a few weeks.

Matty Clarke was absent because he broke his hand against Wythenshawe, while Jack Flemming and Tom Schofield were both on holiday.

Steve Wilkes' post match reaction:

Vics will next be in action at Congleton Town on Tuesday.
