POLICE officers are appealing for information following a serious crash on the M6 southbound where a man was left with serious injuries.
Officers received a report of a collision in the early hours of this morning, Friday, August 13.
It took place on the M6 southbound between junction 20 for Lymm and junction 19 for Knutsford involving two HGVs, a Ford Transit van and a silver Mercedes.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 56-year-old man from Newcastle-Under-Lyme, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Ford Transit, a 58-year-old man from Bolton and the driver of one of the HGVs a 52-year-old woman from Redditch both sustained minor injuries.
The crash is causing delays on A49 Southbound in Warrington.
Junction 20A to 19 remains closed and there are 90 minute delays approaching the closure.
There are delays of 30 minutes northbound, diversion routes and nearby areas are heavily congested with 30 minute delays.
There is no estimated time for reopening.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of the vehicles leading up to or during the incident to get in touch.
