THE number of Cheshire hospital Covid patients being treated has fallen slightly in the past week.

The latest number of Covid patients recorded in the four main hospital trusts covering the county is 65, as of 8am on Tuesday, August 10, according to NHS England figures, with fewer patients requiring the use of a mechanical ventilator bed.

That is a fall of eight on the previous week's 73.

Broken down by hospital trust, there are:

  • Warrington and Halton: 25 Covid patients (up four from last week), including four on mechanical ventilator beds (down one from last week)
  • Mid Cheshire: 16 Covid patients (down six from last week), including two on mechanical ventilator beds (down one from last week)
  • East Cheshire: 12 Covid patients (down four from last week), including one on a mechanical ventilator bed (no change from last week)
  • Countess of Chester: 12 Covid patients (down two from last week), none on a mechanical ventilator bed (down one from last week).

The last recorded Covid patient death by trust is:

  • Warrington and Halton: August 10
  • Mid Cheshire: August 1
  • East Cheshire: August 4
  • Countess of Chester: July 30.

At least 81 per cent of every Cheshire borough's adult population has now had a first dose of a Covid vaccine, with over 71 per cent of adults now fully vaccinated.
