ONE of Cheshire's biggest steam and vintage events is coming to the area this weekend – with more than 60 traction engines on show.

Astle Park in Chelford will be hosting its annual steam fair on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15, and following the latest government guidance it is now able to offer admission tickets on the day.

Some of the traction engines and vehicles on show will include showman’s engines, vintage cars, lorries, fire engines, buses, Series 1 Land Rovers, classic motorcycles, vintage tractors, military vehicles, miniature steam engines and stationary engines.

The Scarborough Fair Collection will be joining the event this year with its stage show production of singers, dancers and musicians.

The musical extravaganza will take place at regular intervals over the weekend.

And to keep children entertained there will be old time and modern funfair rides with the carousel, dodgems, waltzers, have-a-go steering model boats, quad bikes, a Punch and Judy show and even a giant inflatable.

Trade stands will have an array of goods on offer, including a craft, gift and fine food marquee, as well as autojumble, antiques and collectables.

Families can also experience working displays including a chainsaw carver, rack saw bench, drag saw, flour mill and threshing set.

On Saturday, you can party the night away with Dr Busker, who is performing live from 8.30pm.

There will also be a firework display starting at around 9.45pm.

Tickets can be purchased on the day or in advance from outdoorshows.co.uk.

Pre-booked camping slots are also available.
