AROUND 60 tonnes of manure and straw set on fire in Northwich today, August 3.
Shortly before 8.25am a fire crew from Northwich Fire Station responded to Yeld Lane.
This was following reports of manure smouldering in the area.
On arrival the fire crew found the large pile of manure and straw well alight.
The firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
A digger was then used to drag out the affected materials.
The fire crew also used a thermal imaging camera to help check the area and locate any hot spots.
