CHESHIRE OAKS will be offering more walk-in Covid vaccine clinics at its retail park next week.

The pop-up clinics do not require booking, just turn up and get jabbed if you're 18 or over, and have either yet to receive a first vaccine, or it has been at least eight weeks since the first dose.

Both Pfizer and AstraZeneca jabs will be on offer at the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet site, outside the Nike store, from 11am-7pm, on Monday and Tuesday, August 2-3.

Pfizer vaccines will also be available at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall on Thursday and Friday, August 4-5. Wednesday's opening hours will be 9am-6pm and Thursday's opening hours will be 9am-5pm.

Vaccines, particularly Pfizer, are issued for as long as the daily supply lasts and so may run out before the advertised closing time.

No appointment is necessary to attend any of the free mobile clinics.

Appointments can also be pre-booked for alternative venues through the National Booking Service either online at www.nhs.uk/Covid-vaccinationor by phoning: 119.

  • Free Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) are available from Cheshire West and Chester Council’s own mobile pop-up Covid-19 testing units which will be in Ellesmere Port next week

As of Monday, August 2, the pop-up testing units will be located at:

  • Public Car Park, near to Iceland Food Warehouse, Mercer Walk, 56-58 The Port Arcades, Ellesmere Port, CH65 0AP
  • Poole Day Centre, New Grosvenor Road, Ellesmere Port, CH65 2HB

The current approach to testing in the borough is not part of a surge testing programme but is in response to testing where Covid-19 rates are relatively high.

The pop-up testing units will be open every day from 9am to 4.30pm, Monday, August 2, to Friday, August 6, and will provide a free LFT test to anyone who does not have any Covid-19 symptoms. This type of test is good at picking up people who have no symptoms but are infected with Covid-19 and so may be unknowingly spreading the disease.

Government recommends that everyone tests for Covid-19 twice a week regardless of whether they have been vaccinated. Free home test kits are readily available at participating local pharmacies or online and are also available to collect at the pop-up testing units.
