NORTHWICH’S best rated GP surgeries have been revealed, according to the patients that use them.

The results of the GP Patient Survey 2021 were published last week, after 2,408,303 questionnaires were sent out nationally, and 850,206 were returned between January 4 and April 6, 2021.

The survey measures patients’ experiences across a range of topics including making an appointment, if needs were met during appointments and overall approval ratings.

Witton Street Surgery was named the best surgery in Northwich according to patients, with an overall approval rating of 88 per cent.

Five surgeries – Oakwood Medical Centre, Firdale Medical Centre, Watling Street Surgery, Danebridge Medical Centre and Middlewich Road Surgery – also had approval ratings above 80 per cent.

However at the other end of the table, Weaverham Surgery scored 67 per cent.

In terms of overall experience booking an appointment, Watling Street Surgery and Witton Street Surgery came joint top, with 75 per cent of people saying the experience was 'good'.

This is compared with 60 per cent at Weaverham Surgery.

The national average is 71 per cent.

Patients at Watling Street Surgery rated their practice top for meeting their needs during appointments with 97 per cent.

Weaverham Surgery came bottom with 91 per cent – just under the national average of 94 per cent.

Witton Street Surgery: 88 per cent

Watling Street Surgery: 86 per cent

Middlewich Road Surgery: 85 per cent

= Oakwood Medical Centre: 85 per cent

Firdale Medical Centre: 84 per cent

Danebridge Medical Centre (including Sandiway and Kingsmead): 83 per cent

Weaverham Surgery: 67 per cent.
