Knutsford – Elizabeth Gaskell
An English novelist, biographer and short story writer who shed light on the Victorian era, Elizabeth spent most of her childhood in Knutsford living with her aunt. She married in the town before moving to Manchester.
She has her own memorial tower on King Street.
Michael Owen - Chester
Owen was born in Chester and his dad even played for them.
Michael then went on to have spells with Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Liverpool and Manchester United. Not bad going.
George Mallory - Mobblerley
George, raised in a ten-bedroom house on Hobcroft Lane, set out to become the first to reach the summit of the world's highest mountain.
He had taken part in the first three British expedititions to Mount Everest.
Sadly George and his climbing partner Andrew Irvine died on the mountain before reaching the 8,849m peak.
Rupert Holmes – Northwich
Do you like Pino Coladas? Of course you. Even more so that David Goldstein, or Rupert Holmes as he’s more commonly known sung it.
Rupert, 74, had an illustrious career as a composer, singer-songwriter, musician, dramatist and author, who was born in Northwich, before moving to New York aged six.
Harry Styles - Holmes Chapel
As their residents probably know all too well by now, Harry grew up in the village and worked for a bakery there.
The singer-songwriter has toured all over the world since and has tried his hand at acting in recent years.
Devante Cole - Alderley Edge
Cole, son of Andy, is a footballer himself, having been on the books at Manchester City.
After moves to the likes of Bradford, Fleetwood and Wigan Athletic, he has just earned a move to Barnsley following a successful spell at Motherwell.
John Bishop – Winsford
We know you probably know, but of course, John Bishop tops the list for Winsford.
The Liverpool-born comedian, who moved to Winsford as a child and attended Willow Wood Primary School, is another from the area to go on to a remarkable career in comedy, presenting and more.
Middlewich - Craig McDean
For the British fashion photographer who does shoots for high-end brands and celebrities such as Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Aniston and more, it all started in Middlewich.
Craig attended Mid Cheshire College to study photography.
