FOR National Picnic Week, we have not been as blessed as in previous weeks with the weather.

But with highs of 21 degrees expected for Sunday, we thought we would round up some of Cheshire’s best picnic spots for you to check out.

Marbury Park

Northwich’s country park is perfect for a scenic walk by the mere and a bit of exploring.

And there is something for the kids in the form of a play area to get rid of their energy, before moving to the picnic area.

Tatton Park

You have all the land in the world to choose from for a picnic here. Whether that be as part of a 2.5 or 5.5 mile walk around the grounds, there is almost endless space to picnic at your will.

And again, a handy play area to keep the children occupied.

Northwich Guardian: Pickmere Lake is not just good for picnics, sunsets wise it isn't too bad eitherPickmere Lake is not just good for picnics, sunsets wise it isn't too bad either

Pickmere Lake

If you fancy a swim or a walk, head to Knutsford’s Pickmere where there is enough space to cater for your picnic needs, and views that you can stay a while for.

However, if you do go, remember to take your rubbish with you.

Winsford Marina

Time can pass you by at the marina as you take in the wildlife and the boats that pass by.

Picnic tables are available to sit back, relax and chill on your own or with the family.

Beeston Castle

Challenging the kids and yourselves is one of the best ways of enjoying a well-deserved picnic.

Our final suggestion is a walk up to the Cheshire castle as you can bring a picnic with you with no facilities at the top. Sit back, relax and enjoy the views.

As ever, if you have any additions, leave them in the comments for other readers to pick up on.
