A MAN from Northwich has appeared at court after being charged with the rape of a woman more than three years ago.
The first listing of the case involving Benjamin James Kershaw, of Bishops Way in Winnington, was heard at Crewe Magistrates Court on Friday, June 18.
The 40-year-old appeared before magistrates facing one charge of raping a woman over the age of 16.
The alleged offence is believed to have occurred on January 24, 2018.
Kershaw did not enter any plea during the brief hearing and, once it was adjourned, was released on conditional bail by the magistrates.
The case was sent to be heard at Chester Crown Court, where Kershaw will next appear on July 16 at 10am.
