MORE families than ever before are relying on foodbanks for survival.
The demand for help has doubled during the pandemic.
Mid Cheshire Foodbank is currently running short of a few everyday items such as deserts, milk, pasta sauce and potatoes.
Winsford mayor Cllr Nathan Pardoe, who is a foodbank trustee and volunteer, said: "We always appreciate donations but in the near future we are expecting an increase in demand, particularly when furlough comes to an end.
"We are trying to build up our stores so we will have extra supplies in."
Foodbanks are staffed entirely by volunteers and appreciate all the help and support they receive from the local community.
Help is available for anyone who needs it and people are urged to come forward as soon as possible.
"If you are struggling don't leave it until there have been days since you had a proper meal," said Cllr Pardoe.
"There is food available for anybody who needs it, nobody needs to go hungry."
