A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of making threats with an imitation firearm.
The 16-year-old was taken into custody along with a 48-year-old woman who has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The pair were arrested after police were called to reports of a teenager armed with a pistol on John Brunner Crescent, Northwich, shortly after 6.15pm on Monday.
Armed Police and officers attended the scene and recovered an imitation firearm and large knife.
A 14-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place, however, he has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
The 16-year-old boy and 48-year-old woman remain in custody at the current time where they are being questioned by officers.
Inspector Jason Murray, of Northwich Local Policing Unit said: “I understand that incidents of this nature may be alarming, but I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider community.”
