FAMILIES are being invited to a series of themed food festivals coming to Northwich this summer.

Pick n Mix Events is bringing 'Foodie Fest' to Blakemere, with the first event taking place in the village this Sunday.

Visitors will be able put their tastebuds to work on a variety of food and drinks.

And if they want to buy anything they try on the day, there will be artisan traders at the event selling their mouth-watering goods.

The 'Original' event taking place on June 6 will showcase a variety of food and drink traders offering incredible mains and scrumptious desserts, accompanied by a selection of drinks.

Next month, on July 4, the heat is turned up when the theme changes to 'Hot n Spicy' but not to fear, there will be milder offerings for those looking to avoid anything on the Scoville scale.

On August 1 the focus will be on vegetarian and vegan foods and drinks during the 'Veggielicious' event.

Why not try some meat-free items at the festival where there will be vegan foods available.

But of course to cater for everyone, there will still be a selection of non-vegetarian items for those who just love their meat.

The final event of the summer, on September 5, is 'Choc Fest' and it will come as no surprise it is a celebration of all things chocolatey.

From sweet tempting desserts to chocolate wood fire pizza and chocolate and passionfruit smoothies, there is something for everyone.

Each event will showcase non-food and drink traders as well as its own Children’s Zone to keep the little ones entertained throughout the day.

Sarah Green, the owner of the Pick n Mix Events company said: "This is an opportunity to have a great day out and create some memories.

"As a small family-run business we aim to provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy themselves, have fun and feel good.

"We really want to make these events hugely successful so the local community can come together after what has been a very difficult year for us all.

"Let’s make the summer of 2021 one to be remembered."
