NORTHWICH primary school pupils are getting stuck into National Children’s Gardening Week after a green fingered donation from Barratt Homes.
The Robins class at Lostock Gralam CE Primary School, close to Barratt Homes’ Dane View development, recently enjoyed planting more than 200 bulbs and seeds at the school to encourage more wildlife into the grounds.
Barratt Homes donated a range of perennial plants to grow in some wetland areas of the grounds, as well as wildflower seeds for the children to scatter around the area and watch them grow throughout the summer term.
National Children’s Gardening Week is a great way for schools to capture children’s enthusiasm for planting.
It is hosted in late May when the weather is typically warmer as this helps the plants to grow and flourish.
