A SHOE shop has been forced to close due to Covid and falling sales.
Elliot Footwear on High Street say it is no longer financially viable to stay open.
Owner Peter Elliot said: "We have tried very hard to provide a professional foot fitting service for children in Northwich and the wider area but have not been able to keep the business going due to lack of customers and sales.
"We would like to thank our customers who have supported us since opening in February, 2020 but the store is just not financially viable in the current climate.
"Unfortunately, with children wearing school shoes less and supermarkets taking business from us during the short school terms this has not helped.
"Sadly, we are one of the many business failures due to Covid, Amazon, the Internet and supermarkets."
A closing down sale starts today.

Peter is also a member of the Society of Shoe Fitters, serving on its council for a number of years, and the business is a member of The Foot Health Register, with both organisations helping to promote good foot health.
