A SEX offender who targeted women as they slept has been jailed.

Alex Slocombe, from Padgate, was handed six years behind bars at Liverpool Crown Court today, Tuesday, after admitting three counts of sexual assault.

The 23-year-old attacked two different women on separate occasions in 2017 and last year.

Slocombe, of Duxford Court, was also handed a restraining order preventing him from contacting his victims indefinitely and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.

Detective constable Joe Davies said: “This conviction sends a clear message about consent and the associated consequences.

“The offender’s actions had a profound and long lasting impact on both victims.

“They have both struggled to come to terms with what happened to them and are still very much affected by what Slocombe did.

“Hopefully the result today can go some way to helping the victims feel a sense of justice, and I hope they can start to move forward with their lives in the near future.

“I hope that this gives others hope that they can have the confidence to come forward and talk about what happened to them and that their concerns will be taken seriously.

“Anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault is urged to come forward and report it to police.

“You will be listened to, your concerns will be taken seriously and we will do all we can do to provide you with the specialist support you will need.”

Cheshire Police have not released a custody picture of Slocombe.
