A HISTORIC village pub near Chester has undergone a major refurbishment ahead of its reopening next week.

The Swan at Tarporley, one of Cheshire’s most iconic pubs which dates back to the 16th century, is set to welcome back customers indoors on Monday (May 17).

Guests will finally be able to experience the extensive renovation that the pub and its bedrooms have undergone during the lengthy period of closure.

All interior rooms within the pub have been revamped along with the bathrooms and outdoor space. A new patio area has also been introduced for outdoor dining.

As well as this, all 16 bedrooms – six of which are dog-friendly – have enjoyed a complete renovation, from wall décor to beds.

The pub plans to reopen with a a wide range of drinks including three ales from nearby Weetwood Brewery and Distillery, and will also feature a range of newly introduced local bottled ales.
