STEVE Rotheram has been re-elected as Metro Mayor of Liverpool City Region today.
After a bruising Friday, there was better news for Labour on Saturday as Steve Rotheram comfortably secured a second term with 58% of first preference votes.
Mr Rotheram tweeted his thanks to his supporters after announcing he had secured a second term as mayor of the Liverpool City Region.
The Labour politician said: “Massive thank you to everybody who has put your faith in me to continue as Labour Mayor of the Liverpool City Region.
“It’s a massive vote of confidence in the power of devolution and the work I’ve done so far – now the Government has to back further devolution.”
