TWO dogs and two litters of puppies have been rescued from a kitchen fire in Middewich.

Firefighters were called to a property in Long Lane shortly before 2.15pm this afternoon.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters rescued two adult dogs and two litters of puppies and administered oxygen.

"A large fan was used to ventilate the area while the gas and electricity supply was isolated."
