A NORTHWICH car dealership is making sure it stays firmly in the shop window when non-essential retailers re-open on April 12.

Manchester Road-based Motor Connect has had ten individually designed remote control cars made that will be displayed in the windows of ten mystery town centre shops.

In a bid to get people out and about in the town after lockdown, the company is challenging people to find the cars, take a selfie to prove it, before sharing the image on Instagram to be in with a chance of winning one of them.

Lisa Corwood, from the firm, explained the idea: "We're launching a new website at the beginning of April.

"So we decided, to coincide with that, we'd try and raise some awareness of the brand around Northwich.

"We're trying to get people out and about when the lockdown starts to lift on April 12.

"We're hiding ten remote control cars around the town centre and they'll be in the windows of shops, so it will all be covid safe.

"What we want is for people to then share a selfie with the car in the window on Instagram."

Among the prizes being given away to the lucky winners, include the ten remote control cars and a fairly unique build it yourself Lego version of a Land Rover Defender.

Lisa added: "Obviously for us it's a case of brand awareness.

"But we also want to push traction into the town centre with everything opening back up.

"So for us, it's a case of killing two birds with one stone.

"Anything that gets kids active and out and about is something we want to get behind as a business.

"It's just going to be something for people to look forward to after spending so long in lockdown."

The remote control cars are all completely unique, which makes the window hunt even more interesting.

"These cars are all bespoke," Lisa added.

"It will be a really nice thing to win as hardly anybody else will have one.

"Nine of them are red Audi's and there is one which is extra special, as it's a gold McLaren.

"Whoever manages to find the gold McLaren and takes a picture of themselves with it, will then go into the draw to win not only that but also the Lego Defender.

"There will also be a draw to decide who will win the nine red Audi remote control cars."

The window car hunt will start on April 12 and run until April 17.

All you have to do to enter is find one or more of the cars and take a selfie of yourself with it and share on Instagram with the hashtag #motorconnectselfie.
