A POPULAR Chinese takeaway which shut after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus has re-opened.

After Five, in Northwich, closed temporarily on March 23 in order to fully protect its customers and other workers.

The affected staff member is now over the worst and on the road to recovery.
And from 4.30pm on April 1, the Station Road shop is welcoming customers back.

An After Five spokesman said the team were grateful for the community’s support while the takeaway was closed.

Posting on Facebook, he said: “Thank you for everyone’s kind words and messages, the member of staff is recovering well and over the worst.

“The team all missed being in the shop and couldn’t wait to serve you all again.

“It was nice or me to spend time with my family over the weekend and recharge after what has been a manic 11 months.”

During the closure, the team have been updating the takeaway’s menus, including its gluten free and vegan choices, and adding a number of new dishes.
