FIREFIGHTERS responded to an overheated car last night, Friday, which was giving off smoke in Northwich.

Shortly after 10pm, a fire crew from Northwich attended Stubbs Lane in Lostock Gralam.

On arrival the crew discovered that the smoke was caused by an overheated engine.

No-one was inside the Alfa Romeo and the owner was outside the vehicle.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to cool down the vehicle's engine and make it safe.

They were in attendance for less than half-an-hour.
