CARS once belonging to two of the North West's most celebrated and legendary footballers are up for grabs on an automotive marketplace.

There was very little in the game Manchester United superstar Roy Keane and his Liverpool counterpart didn't achieve and now is the time to own a unique piece of their history off the pitch.

Former Man United captain, Roy Keane’s custom-painted gold Aston Martin DB7 is up for sale on Auto Trader for £29,500, exactly one year after it was bought through the same automotive marketplace.

First owned by the football legend in 1998, the car is currently advertised by a private seller, who staggeringly is giving away an original 1999 Manchester United shirt signed by the whole squad as part of the listing.

The seller bought the vehicle through Auto Trader, the UK’s largest digital automotive marketplace for new and used cars, a year ago to the day, but now must swap his beloved DB7 for a more family-friendly motor.

He believes that offering the shirt alongside the car adds to the novelty and continues its unique history.

The custom-painted DB7 was purchased by Keane in 1999 to celebrate Man United’s astonishing triumph in the famous Treble, winning the FA Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

For fans who have always wanted Keane’s autograph, now they can have it, as this Aston Martin also comes with a signed letter from the footballer, confirming there was no damage caused during his ownership.

The 3.2L grand tourer produces 335bhp and boasts full black leather interior. It has a true vintage feel with its high gloss wooden trim and original Alpine system.

The mechanics of the car have recently been refurbished by a renowned DB7 specialist, ensuring it is in full working order for its next lucky owner.

If something more modern is your goal, Ex-England and Liverpool Captain and current Glasgow Rangers Manager, Steven Gerrard’s old vehicle is also currently on site for a cool £47,999.

Gerrard spared no expense on the 3L Range Rover, kitted out with 23” Overfinch alloys and a full factory Overfinch body-kit.

It is finished in Fuji White with privacy glass, panoramic roof and in-car refrigerator. The stunning 4X4 also features full cream leather interior, finished with Grand Black Lacquer veneers – the executive class upgrade option.

Gerrard owned the car for about a year when he signed a contract for LA Galaxy. It was reported that he had a similar Range Rover custom built for use on his arrival to LA.

The private seller bought the vehicle directly from Overfinch and claims it is in immaculate condition, with 20,000 miles less than expected for its age.

The 4X4 has featured in the press many times with pictures of Alex Gerrard, Steven’s wife, driving it to lavish locations.

Auto Trader’s Rory Reid said: "Roy Keane bought this Aston Martin to celebrate Manchester United’s iconic Treble win of 1999, standing out as the best four-wheeled piece of memorabilia to mark a golden milestone in the club’s history.

"Now someone else has the opportunity to own such an iconic souvenir – not just the car but the signed shirt.

"This is surely the perfect match for football fanatics and especially Man Utd followers."
