MANY viewers are anxiously awaiting the return of Peaky Blinders after Arley Hall was again used as a filming location.

But if you want to see Arley on the small screen before then you only have to wait until Friday.

The country house, near Northwich, features in the new Netflix drama The Irregulars.

The series offers a different take on Sherlock Holmes stories and is about a group of misfits living in 19th century London who work to solve supernatural crimes.

Holmes is played by Inbetweeners actor Henry Lloyd-Hughes – in quite a different interpretation of the character compared to Benedict Comberbach's portrayal – but he is largely absent in the show's earlier episodes.

Arley Hall and its gardens and estate are frequently used as a backdrop for TV shows.

A spokesman for Arley Hall said: "Just before we entered lockdown in 2020 we were one of the locations used for the new Netflix drama, The Irregulars.

"We are always pleased to be chosen as a TV and film location, it’s fascinating to see behind the scenes and we love seeing Arley come to life in so many different interpretations.

"As well as the ever popular BBC’s Peaky Blinders we have also played host to The Antiques Road Show and Coronation Street – could you get a more diverse mix?

"But did you spot us within any of the Cold Feet episodes, or perhaps in the trailer for The Voice? Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, Tonight with Trevor McDonald and Evermore on Disney UK were filmed here and at the end of 2019 Cobra was filmed at Arley with Robert Carlyle for Sky One.

"Although the hall is still sadly closed to the public the gardens are open every day between 10am and 5pm so why not come along and see how many locations you can spot while enjoying a breath of fresh air and a takeaway drink and cake from our café?"
