A LORRY caught fire on the southbound carriageway of the M6.
Firefighters were called to reports of smoke coming from a HGV shortly before 11.30am this morning.
The incident happened between junction 17 and 18.
Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to check the lorry and a hose reel to cool the brakes on the trailer.
Crews from Middlewich, Sandbach and Congleton dealt with the incident.
