AN air ambulance has been called to a crash on the M6 involving four-vehicles.
A collision involving two HGVs, a car and a van happened shortly after 1pm on the northbound carriageway between junctions 17 and 18.
Firefighters gave care to a 54-year-old man at the scene.
Crews are still dealing with the incident.
A hose reel jet was used to dampen down the engine of a car.
One lane closed and traffic is very slow.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
