THE Lodge in Winnington has confirmed it is reopening on April 12 when pubs can allow guests in their beer gardens and outdoor spaces.

Bookings will be open from March 22 for the Flaming Grill pub, part of Greene King, which took to social media to reveal its plans.

On Facebook a spokesman said: "We are so pleased to announce that we will be reopening from April 12, for just our garden, as per the government roadmap.

"Booking system will be available from March 22 so please download our app now to be ready.

"We will be serving food and drinks. Rule of six will apply. Table service and app service only.

"There may be some slight alterations to opening hours and food service times.

"In the meantime, pray for sunshine buy a new outfit and get excited about that first ice cold pint.

"We can’t wait to see you all, not long now."

More Greene King pubs in mid Cheshire could be added to the 'handful of sites in the area that will be opening for outdoor service' in April.

But some pubs such as The White Barn in Cuddington and Brighton Belle in Winsford have confirmed they will not be opening until May 17.

Boris Johnson's Covid 'roadmap' will see pubs able to reopen tables outside from April 12.

Friends or family will be allowed to meet in beer gardens as long as they abide by the rule of six or are made up of two households.

However, there will no longer be a requirement to have a 'substantial meal' with drinks.

Pubs and restaurants are then expected to be able to welcome customers inside from May 17.
