TWO quizzes have been organised to help raise funds for the Northwich businesses affected by flooding in January.

Both held online and in a multiple choice format, there will be a Big Fat Northwich Quiz on Thursday, March 11 which starts at 7:30pm, and this will be followed on Sunday, March 21 by The Big Fat Northwich Family Quiz which will begin at 4:00pm.

There will be a minimum donation of £5 per team with this money then going directly to the Northwich Floods JustGiving cause which has currently had donations of over £9,000.

The prize for the winning team or individual will be a £50 voucher that can be spent in any independent business in Northwich.

As with the walk, run, ride initiative launched as part of Northwich Floods, this latest idea is being supported and promoted by a number of town centre organisations including the Northwich Business Improvement District, Rotary in Northwich and Made in Northwich, who have been sharing messages across their websites and social platforms to help raise awareness of the cause.

The quizzes will be hosted by Julian Williams who was the man behind a series of Northwich Life lockdown quizzes last year which proved very popular.

Speaking ahead of the two Big Fat Northwich Quizzes, Julian said: "During the first lockdown I issued over 7000 quizzes by email to the people of Northwich to use in family zoom quizzes.

"These were all free so I am hoping that these people will now enjoy a Northwich Zoom quiz while at the same time contributing to those businesses affected by the floods."

If you would like to enter, please complete the entry form at http://bit.ly/northwichquiz.

Participants will need access to two devices, for example a laptop and phone, to be able to play.
