FEARS that a suspicious man could be preying on children in the Pickmere area have been allayed by police.
Officers have confirmed that they did receive a call about suspicious activity on Linnards Lane in Wincham but at no point did the man approach any youngsters.
Police received a call at 5.15pm on Friday, February 26.
A spokesman for Cheshire police said: "The caller stated that at around 4.30pm an unknown man was seen taking photographs in the park.
"The man was confronted by a member of the public and stated that he was completing a photography course.
"At no point did the man approach any of the children.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
Residents in Pickmere said they had been concerned over the safety of children after hearing that a man was seen acting suspiciously in the area.
