VISITORS to Delamere Forest are warned that there is limited car parking available today (December 29) as a result of the cold weather conditions.

Forestry England says members of the public must be prepared to turn around and return home if the main visitor car park is full.

The forest's other car parks are shut due to ice.

Visitors are also urged to take care as the trails around the forest have not been treated.

In a Facebook post, Delamere Forest - Forestry England said: "The main visitor centre car park at Delamere Forest is now open.

"We need the ice to thaw before we can open our other car parks, and the trails around the forest haven't been treated either so please take extra care if you are visiting us today.

"As we only have limited car parking available today, if you travel to Delamere Forest and our car park is full, you must be prepared to turn around and go home.

"Please do not park outside the forest in a way which might be dangerous or inconsiderate to our neighbours."
