A HARTFORD choir has recorded a version of 'O Holy Night' to raise funds for a hospice in Winsford.

Every year, Bostock Singers have chosen a designated charity for which they raise funds at the concerts they give, but 2020 has made this very difficult.

Instead, the choir has been forced to stay at home and rehearse via Zoom and led by musical director Nicola Howbrigg, have put together a lockdown fundraising video.

A spokesman for the choir said: "We haven’t sung ‘together’ since March, but we have kept going with our rehearsals through the lockdown by rehearsing on Zoom.

"Christmas is normally a wonderfully busy time for The Bostock Singers.

"This time last year, we had performed in Llandudno at the North Wales Choral Festival at the start of November (coming second).

"We were very proud to put together a Lockdown video of the Coldplay classic ‘Fix You’ as a fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK.

"We are hugely grateful to everyone who contributed; the video raised nearly £2000.

"On the back of our success, we have decided to do it again but with a Christmas song.

"This time we have decided to support an incredible local charity."

The choir unanimously decided to record a version of 'O Holy Night' with all the money raised from donations going to St. Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice in Winsford.

The spokesman went on: "Led by Nic Howbigg and accompanied by Alison Richards, choir members recorded their own parts.

"This was skilfully edited and produced by Nic and choir member Andy Martell into their very own Christmas Lockdown fundraising song."
