CHESHIRE West and Chester Council has confirmed it is taking court action to remove a small group of Travellers from a supermarket car park in Ellesmere Port.
Three caravans set up camp on Asda car park last week but despite being served with an eviction notice have remained at the site.
The unauthorised encampment is in an area at the side of the supercentre.
A statement from the council said: "The group encamped at Asda car park in Ellesmere Port failed to adhere to a Section 77 notice and have remained on site.
"The council has requested a court date and a summons to be served to the group in due course."
Travellers have previously set up camp in the car park, with one such encampment back in 2015.
Earlier this year, an unauthorised encampment was set up in nearby Whitby Park.
