PLANS for St. John's Methodist Church's Advent Angels are starting to bear fruit, just in time for the church's reopening for worship on Sunday, December 6.

Members have been busy making and painting Angels – there is a special banner outside the church in Brownlow Street, and a special booklet with readings for Advent has been produced.

Also, angels will appear in windows in both shops and in homes for people to look out for.

Reverend Rob Weir, the minister at St. Johns said the church was doing its best to spread a 'message of hope'.

"We're doing our best to share the message of the angels this Christmas," said Rev Weir. "A message of hope and good news that is more important than ever.

"We know Christmas will be different this year, but we want to say that there is still much to celebrate as we remember the birth of Jesus Christ."

St. Johns are also running special 'Carols and a Cuppa' sessions on Zoom, on a Wednesday Morning and Thursday afternoon and people wishing to participate are asked to get in touch with the church to find out how to join in.

There is also still time for people to get involved in making and displaying angels.
