Ysgol Pentre students with their books
Pupils at a school near Chirk have helped to raise almost £1,500 in a sponsored reading event.
Ysgol Pentre pupils, along with pupils from Ysgol Froncysyllte and Ysgol Y Garth in The Dee Valley Federation, participated in Ready, Steady, Read with Laura Rowlands from Usborne Books.
This saw the Federation Children raise an incredible £882.50, which Usborne added another £529.50 to to make a total of an amazing £1,421.
Laura challenged the children to collect enough money to buy books that would make a tower taller than her, which is what they did.
