ANOTHER 100 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across Cheshire East and West in the latest 24-hour figures.

The latest data from Public Health England covers the 24-hour period up to 9am today, November 24.

In Cheshire West, including Northwich and Winsford, there were 51 new cases of Covid-19 in that time – taking the borough’s total to 8,662 since the pandemic began.

In Cheshire East, including Knutsford and Middlewich, there were 49 new cases of Covid-19 in the 24 hours up to 9am today – taking the borough’s total to 8,537 since the pandemic started.

The daily case numbers are almost the same as yesterday’s, when there were 99 new cases of coronavirus across the two boroughs.

It represents a sharp drop on the case numbers seen last Tuesday, when there were 73 cases in Cheshire East and 94 in Cheshire West, a total of 167.

The two boroughs have also seen another fall in their seven-day Covid infection rates, with the latest figures published this evening covering the week up to November 19.

Cheshire East now has an infection rate of 180.4 per 100,000 people, down from 193.7 yesterday and 250.4 one week ago.

Cheshire West’s infection rate now stands at 232.3 per 100,000 people, down from 243.1 yesterday and 315.4 one week ago.
