A SUSPECTED drink driver has been arrested and charged after two boys were struck by a car during a hit and run.

The 11-year-old and 12-year-old were involved in a ‘minor collision’ on Capesthorne Road in Orford at around 6pm on Sunday, November 22.

They were checked over at the scene by paramedics, but were not taken to hospital.

Tracey Williams has since been charged with failing to stop after a collision and drink driving in connection with the incident, which occurred near to the Co-op store.

The 58-year-old, of Capesthorne Road, will appear before Warrington Magistrates Court next month in order to face these charges.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 6pm on Sunday, November 22, police were called to reports of a collision on Capesthorne Road.

“Officers attended the scene and found that an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy had been involved in a minor collision with a car – a 58-year-old woman was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

“Tracey Williams, of Capesthorne Road, has since been charged with drink driving and failing to stop after a collision.

“Williams has been released on bail and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on Thursday, December 17.

“Both of the boys were checked at the scene by paramedics – they did not require hospital treatment.”
