NORTHWICH residents are invited to spread some Christmas cheer in their neighbourhoods next month with an evening of carol singing.

‘Carols from your garden’ will see residents encouraged to sing along to festive favourites from their doorsteps, balconies and front gardens.

The carols will be played on Radio Northwich, with those taking part able to request their favourite Christmas songs, while there will also be a co-ordinated light switch-on to kick-start the festivities.

With carol services likely to be curtailed this year due to the pandemic, John Thompson, partner at Radio Northwich, hopes the event will be able to bring the community together in a Covid-safe way.

He said: "Christmas should be a joyous time for families and friends to come together and celebrate the festive season, and while it may not be possible to meet in a traditional way this year, the event will provide an opportunity for families and neighbours to get into the Christmas spirit as a community.

“We look forward to receiving residents' favourite carol requests and will be playing the most popular suggestions.”
