FATHER Christmas is leaving the sleigh at home this year and heading out on wheels to deliver presents to everyone on the nice list.

Paul Dean, a personal trainer from Northwich, decided to branch out earlier this year and started his own cycling-based delivery service.

Having never driven a car, Paul has always relied on bikes as his preferred mode of transport and owned his first cargo style trike several years ago, which he used to take his three children to and from school.

With Christmas on the horizon, he has decided he wants to do his bit to spread a little festive cheers so will be taking on the role of Santa to deliver presents on his suitably decorated trike.

Paul said: "Lockdown has happened and we’re none the wiser on how the rules will look if we’re out for December

"To help spread a little Christmas cheer I’m getting ready to take bookings for Christmas present deliveries as Santa through December.

"I’ll be servicing ten local areas twice each, through the month culminating on Christmas Eve.

"Some days it’ll just be me, some days I’ll have Elsa in tow and I’m in negotiations with Snowflake the elf (from hula daze) too."

Northwich Guardian:

Paul Dean will be dressing up as Santa to deliver presents and some much needed festive cheer this Christmas.

Just like the big man from the North Pole, Paul has delivered a variety of differently items since starting the business, including a three seater sofa and mattresses, but presents are sure to go down very well with their recipients.

He added: "Essentially it’s a seasonal extension on my delivery service.

"Throughout the rest of the year I’m still taking click and collect orders, both for groceries and any Christmas presents that need picking up from shops in and around the town."

"Obviously the calendar is in development and will be available through my Facebook page."
