THREE more deaths from coronavirus have been reported by Leighton Hospital’s NHS trust today, November 20.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust says one of the deaths took place yesterday, November 18, while two took place on Wednesday, November 17.

In total, there have been 15 deaths reported by the trust in the past week, up from seven deaths reported one week ago.

It takes the total number of coronavirus patients who have died at the trust’s sites to 248.

Three more Covid-19 patients have also died at the Countess of Chester, with the NHS trust reporting two death on Thursday and one on Wednesday, taking the hospital trust’s death toll to 263.

Only deaths that occur in hospitals where the patient has tested positive for Covid-19 are recorded in the NHS England figures, with deaths in the community excluded, such as those in care homes.

Across England, 326 new deaths from coronavirus have been reported by NHS hospitals today, including 59 in the north west.

Of those patients, 305 were aged 60 or above, while two people were aged below 40.

Their families have been informed.
